How To Instructions

for PowerPoint Backgrounds and Wallpaper

Are you wondering how to use these free Christian graphics?  Here's some instructions on how to use them.

1.  How do I make the tiles work as wallpaper on my computer?

In Control Panel, go to DISPLAY. When the DISPLAY window opens, click on the DESKTOP tab.  Click on the BROWSE button to navigate to wherever you have saved your graphics on your hard drive.  (I like to make a folder in My Documents for downloads.  It makes them easier to find!)  Click on the graphic that you want, and then click OPEN.  Now, find the drop-down button under POSITION; choose TILE.  Then click OK,  and you should have your wallpaper! (Note: These instructions are for Windows XP and below. Windows Vista instructions are in the works. Mac users; if you have instructions for me, I would be more than happy to post them. I've used Macs in computer labs for my college classes, but we weren't allowed to change the display! I didn't have time, anyway...)

2.  How do I insert the PowerPoint backgrounds into PowerPoint?

On your Menu Bar, look for the FORMAT menu.  Click it and choose BACKGROUND.  The Background window will open.  Choose the drop-down arrow under the  BACKGROUND FILL box.  Choose FILL EFFECTS.  In the FILL EFFECTS window, choose the PICTURE tab.  Click on the SELECT PICTURE button, and navigate to the picture or graphic you want to use.  Click on INSERT.  Now you should see a small picture of what you've chosen on the PICTURE tab.  Click OK.  If you want that background on all of your slides, choose APPLY TO ALL.  If you want that background on just that slide, then choose APPLY.  That's it! Note: (These instructions are for PowerPoint 2003 and below. Instructions for PowerPoint 2007 are in the works.)

All the photos and images are jpegs files. They can be used in any slide show program, not just PowerPoint. I'm not familiar with any other slide show programs, so I'm not able to give out instructions for any others. Sorry!
